OILSTRONG™ is something I started saying when my hubby would leave each time he packed up his suitcases and kissed me good-bye for yet another long hitch. OILSTRONG™ means so many different things to us who live and breathe OILFIELD LIFE. It stands for the wives like myself who become single moms,

handymen, car mechanics, the cook, cleaner, maid and about 7 other positions in the house, each time her hubby kisses her goodbye. It stands for the gentlemen who kiss their wives good bye to spend weeks on end away, missing birthdays, christmas', easter, funerals and even anniversaries. OILSTRONG™ stands for the employers trying to keep their guys employed as long as possible until LAYOFFS are a must to keep afloat. OILSTRONG™ is staying optomistic in the face of really crappy down times. OILSTRONG™ is praying to God for one more oilboom, while telling yourself, next time I won't be such a lousy saver!! OILSTRONG™ stands for the men who have lost their lives to their jobs doing something ONLY we who live for the oilfield life understand! OILSTRONG™ is a brotherhood not to unlike our service men. OILSTRONG™ stands for slinging pipe with pride, throwing sacks like the hulk and being damn good at something MOST would be too weak to last a week doing! OILSTRONG™ means more than two words placed grammatically incorrect in a sentence. You either get it, or you get run off! And as my Momma always said "ain't no way baby" OILSTRONG™!!

Sadly, as many of you know we’ve lost a part of our oilfield family.

Abraham Diaz, was only 42 when his life was senselessly cut short last Sunday. I’ve gone back and forth with the family regarding making a post and they’ve finally agreed to let me say the following:

The family itself has the expenses covered. They are not looking for a handout but I wanted to give his oilfield friends/ family an opportunity to help out if they felt inclined. They’d prefer not to post the information out to the public but I can message you privately with how it can be handled.

Everyone I’ve spoken too has raved about how much fun he was to work with. He put everything out there, worked hard, played even harder and his family and fiancéwere EVERYTHING!! He lived life by his own design and wouldn’t have it any other way. Please send all the prayers and positive vibes you can to his family during this time.

Funeral date and time will be posted as soon as I get them.

Also, I’ve heard there was a banner/poster put at the rig, if you happen to have a picture of it, please post it for the family to see!!!
