🍂📚 BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO ROUTINES… AND FALL IS ON THE WAY! 🍂

As the kids head back to school and the leaves start to fall, there are a few simple things you can do to help keep your HVAC system running smoothly! 🏠🍁

🍂 Keep leaves and debris away from your outdoor unit
Falling leaves, grass clippings, sticks, and other debris can collect around your outdoor HVAC unit. Give it a quick check and keep the area around it clear.

✂️ Trim back plants and bushes
Make sure your outdoor unit has plenty of room to breathe. Keep grass, bushes, and other plants trimmed back from the unit.

🧹 Keep the area around your indoor equipment clean
Don’t let boxes, storage items, or other belongings pile up around your furnace or air handler. Your equipment needs proper airflow!

🔄 Check your air filter
A dirty filter can restrict airflow and make your system work harder. Check it regularly and replace it when needed.

🍁 And don’t forget…
Fall weather can change quickly! Before you know it, we'll be trading those hot summer days for chilly mornings and cozy nights.

A little attention now can go a long way toward keeping your HVAC system happy! ❤️

🥵 Maryland is Feeling the Heat! ☀️

With heat dome conditions bringing prolonged high temperatures and heat indexes well into the 90s and even 100°+, your air conditioner is working overtime.

Here's how you can help your system perform its best:

❄️ Set your thermostat to a comfortable temperature and avoid constantly adjusting it.
🪟 Keep blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day.
🧹 Replace your air filter if it's dirty to improve airflow.
🚪 Keep doors and windows closed to keep cool air inside.
🌬️ Make sure your outdoor A/C unit is free of grass, leaves, and other debris.
🍳 Avoid using your oven, dryer, and other heat-producing appliances during the hottest hours of the day if possible.
🪭 Use ceiling fans or box/pedestal fans to help circulate cool air (remember—they cool people, not rooms).

When should you call Clean Air?
✅ Warm or hot air is coming from your vents.
✅ Your system is making unusual noises or producing strange odors.
✅ Ice is forming on your indoor or outdoor unit.
✅ Your A/C is repeatedly turning on and off.

When you probably DON'T need to call:
✔️ Your A/C has been running most of the day during 100° weather. That's normal!
✔️ It's 100°F outside and your home is holding around 75-80°, even though your thermostat is set to 68°F. During extreme heat, most residential systems simply aren't designed to maintain that large of a temperature difference.
✔️ Your system is cooling steadily—it just takes longer than usual during the hottest part of the afternoon.

⚠️ Remember: A properly functioning A/C system may run almost continuously during a heat dome. That's often a sign it's doing exactly what it was designed to do. If your home has been comfortable and your system suddenly can't keep up, or you notice any of the warning signs above, that's the time to give us a call.

💙 Let our family help your family stay comfortable all summer long.

🥵 Heads up! Extreme heat is moving into our area over the next several days. 🥵

As temperatures climb, it’s important to remember that even a perfectly functioning air conditioner has its limits. Most residential A/C systems are designed to maintain an indoor temperature that’s about 15–20°F cooler than the outdoor temperature. When it’s 100°F outside, don’t expect your home to stay at 68°F—it simply isn’t what the system was built to do.

To help your A/C keep up:
☀️ Keep blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day.
🚪 Minimize opening exterior doors.
🧼 Make sure your air filter is clean.
🌡️ Avoid constantly adjusting the thermostat lower—it won’t cool your home any faster and can put unnecessary strain on your system.

If your A/C is running continuously during the peak heat, that’s often normal. It’s working hard to keep your home as comfortable as possible.

Stay hydrated, check on family members, neighbors, and keep your pets indoors!! Be patient with your HVAC system—it’ll be working overtime just like the technicians keeping everyone cool! ❄️💙
