Four questions to ask before you put your farm's records into anybody's AI.

1. Can I export my data in a standard format?
2. Does it work with other providers?
3. Who gets paid if my data is sold, me or the company?
4. Can I say no to how my data gets used?

Colin asks these because the answers decide what happens the day you want to leave. Your yield history, your soil tests, your field notes, years of work that only exists because somebody wrote it down.

Where does your harvest record live right now? A spreadsheet you fill out at the end of the day, or a piece of paper in the console of your truck?

FSA calls and wants to know which fields are third-stubble. If your fields are already tagged, that answer is a one-minute document, not an afternoon of digging.

Tag a field once with variety, stubble, landowner, acres, whatever matters to your operation. When someone asks for an Acreage Report, the fields already know the answer. Click it out and send it.

Thank you to the Teche Growers Association for having us at the annual sugarcane meeting in New Iberia, and to Griffin
Landry for putting the room together. Thanks to the LSU AgCenter for sharing the program.

Cane growers out of five parishes, no wifi in the building, and questions about fields some of these families have farmed
for generations. That is the room where farm software either holds up or it does not.

A few things y'all asked about that night are already in the app. Cut a field right on the map and each piece keeps its
own crop, variety and acreage. Make a field note with no service and it syncs the second you get bars back. Roll your map
back to any date and see exactly how it looked.

Two split fields. One got a pre-emerge, one's going to get harvested, and both of them carry different documents inside the same boundary.

If you run cane or specialty crops you already know how much time that costs you at the end of the season.
