Time has continued to slip away, often taking with it some of life's treasures. To most of us it was the best of times and to some, it was the worst of times. However, I am proud to say that, during the '60's and '70's, the outstanding numbers of students who graduated, did not get caught up in the "slip away". We attribute this success to the good mentoring, guidance, and support of our principal
s, J.S. Goodson, J.L. Lowe, and Donald Debrow, along with staff members A.B. Harris, Rev Odom, Mr Threatt, Mr Dewitt Garner, Mr Arthur Means, Ms Jackie Rembert, Ms Bennie Carol McGhee, Coach Steve Jefferson and many others who planted seeds of time, motivation, encouragement and success, into our lives. We dare not forget our parents, who loved us, prayed for us, and provided for us, as well as notable mentors and role models in our neighborhoods and elsewhere, who strived with us, helping us early on to realize the importance of a high school education and diploma. Our forever thanks, love, and gratitude, to them all. W salute the graduating classes of the '80's and "90's, that didn't get caught up in "the slip away". They continued by pressing their way up the ladder of success, under the guidance and leadership of Carver's administration and staff, their families, community, and the many who helped to inspire them. Now, in the era of the new millennium, the graduates of 2001-2013, found themselves parading from the all new, G.W. Carver High School for Health Professions, Engineering and Technology, North Birmingham, Alabama. Under the principalship of Mr Darrell Hudson and Dr. Charles L. Willis, Jr. and staff, the support of family, friends, the community, and the Alumni Association, we know that these alumnus, and those who will follow, have and will continue to move forward to be the very best that they can be.
