It is Thanksgiving today! It is the perfect time to share FMI's holiday shopping trends.
FMI found out that for Thanksgiving, people prefer to cook than to buy dishes from restaurants or prepared food in supermarkets.
The key conclusion of the research is that for Thanksgiving and the holidays in December there is an uptick in consumers who say they’ll prepare further in advance. 37% percent of respondents said they will shop further in advance than usual for Thanksgiving, up 4% from 2021.
In addition, FMI noticed that due to the cost concerns, consumers reported more fragmented preferences to cope, like looking for deals or sales (28%), buying more store brands (21%) and preparing more at-home dishes (20%).
