Poutre Plumbing & Heating was the name of the business until Bob retired in August 2002 and sold the business to his employee, Roy Lauby. The name then changed to Poutre/Lauby Plumbing & Heating. Roy had worked as a technician for Bob since 1998 and as the business continued to grow, Roy hired his son, Matt Lauby in 2004. In 2005, the business purchased John Trauernicht Septic Tank Pumping busines
s as Trauernicht retired. In 2008, the company became a corporation and changed the name to Lauby Plumbing, Heating, & Air, Inc. Roy and his employees continually attend conferences and training on new and current equipment and practices. The company has a 30 year history installing Geothermal Heat Pumps, the longest in SE Nebraska. The company also installs radiant in-floor heating systems and can inspect, pump and repair any septic system. In March of 2019, the company purchased the hardware store from Wymore Lumber and in July of 2019 they moved the location of their business to 39103 US Hwy 77, Blue Springs. In addition to their HVAC & geothermal service and complete septic & plumbing service the new location now includes a hardware store, plumbing showroom and secure outdoor Camper/RV/boat storage. There are six fulltime service technician employees:
Roy Lauby/Owner, Matt Lauby as Vice president and head plumbing technician, Aaron Whitwer as head HVAC service technician, Jordan Cookus, Colton Lytle & Devan Rule as service technicians. Gretchen Lauby is the bookkeeper, Kayla Lauby is the office manager and Felecia Cary is the hardware sales.
