βA new commandment I give to you: that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples; if you have love for one another.β John 13:34-35
One of the many great things about being a follower of Jesus Christ is knowing what the purpose of life is: to know God and to make Christ known. We are also blessed to know that love is the motivating factor behind both of these beautiful happenings. Christ loved us before we loved Him, and we have to love one another in order to bring others to Christ. I pray that each and every single one of us would radiate Christβs love to everyone we come in contact with---family, friends, co-workers, strangers, and even those who may hate us---and that the Lord would open doors for us to tell others about His great love for them! And I ask that you would pray for all believers to have boldness and courage, so that whenever we open our mouths to proclaim Christβs love, that God would give us the words to proclaim the gospel fearlessly!
βBeloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one anotherβ (1 John 4:7-11).
