Concrete Pads are the building block that kick the entire installation off by creating a level, and permanent, surface for a heat pump. Combined with 12, 18, or 24 inch ground stands, we plan for the snow levels at your home to keep your heat pump from getting buried. The use of ground stands also allows for the heat pump to defrost and drain properly, reducing freeze-ups and sitting water that can rot your coils out. With the warmer weather on its way, did you know that your heat pumps should be cleaned at least once a year?! Most installers never tell their customers that there is a yearly maintenance cleaning that should be done on both the outdoor condensers and, most importantly, indoor heads. As heat pumps run, they dehumidify the rooms where they are located causing a transfer of moisture through the indoor heads themselves to the exterior of your house. During this process dust and any other airborne particles are also transferred into the filters of the indoor heads. When the moisture and airborne particles mix they can clog your filters as well as the coils that regulate the temperatures in your home and cause the units to preform less efficiently and increase your energy usage bills! Also, the combination of moisture and airborne particles can cause a perfect breeding ground for MOLD to grow in the heads as well causing poor air quality within your home.
