Mitophagy can save your lungs.
At Vincere Biosciences, we develop mitophagy-based therapies to fight Parkinson's disease. But new research shows that mitophagy is responsible for the health of more than just your neurons.

A recent study published in Nature Communications shows that enhancing mitophagy in alveolar stem cells:

→ Restores mitochondrial fitness
→ Prevents cell death
→ Drives lung regeneration in fibrosis and viral pneumonia

At the center of this is a pathway we know well: PINK1/Parkin/USP30. The same mechanism that operates in neurons also operates in AT2 cells - the lung's alveolar stem cells.

Same pathway. Different diseases. That is the principle at the heart of our work.
