What a year it has been! We are thankful for all of our employees and customers. Here are some of our greatest accomplishments as a company, internally, in 2022.

-We were a corporate sponsor for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and donated over $7,000
-Continued participating in Christo Rey High School’s Corporate work study program
-As a whole team, we had 12 fun “bagel meetings” where we met virtually to catch up with one another
-Our Annual Internal Halloween Contest was successful, and our employees came up with some great costumes. Some of our employees even dressed up their dogs in Halloween costumes!

We are looking forward to 2023!

Solar energy is great because sunlight is an endlessly renewing resource. As long as there is sunlight, we can continue to harness that into usable energy while relying less and less on pollution-causing fossil fuels.

Here are a few simple habits you can adopt to quickly begin making a difference in your energy consumption:

● Switch to green energy options
● Turn off the lights as you exit a room
● Use energy-saving lightbulbs
● Use less water and turn it off between washing dishes, brushing teeth, etc.
● Turn electronics off instead of in sleep mode

This year, Columbia Utilities is sponsoring the American Cancer Society’s "Making Strides" walk and fundraising event. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (often referred to as Making Strides, for short) is a walk and fundraiser hosted by the American Cancer Society. It's designed to raise awareness of the impact of breast cancer on our loved ones, and raise funds to support research to find more – and better – treatments, uncover factors that may cause cancer, and improve cancer patients’ quality of life. Events like Making Strides are just a small part of how we hope to impact the community positively. Our team members will be out walking, in addition to our financial support for this very worthwhile event.
