Foreman (Miscellaneous Steel Er****on) — Patriot Steel NC LLC
Position Summary
Patriot Steel NC LLC is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead field crews performing miscellaneous steel er****on and installation on commercial and industrial projects. This is a working foreman position responsible for day-to-day jobsite leadership, safety, quality, productivity, and coordination with general contractors and other trades. The Foreman will drive a company truck and must be willing to travel for out-of-town work as required by project needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise a crew installing miscellaneous steel components including (but not limited to) stairs, handrails/guardrails, ladders, platforms, canopies, embeds, bollards, and specialty metal assemblies.
• Plan daily work activities, assign tasks, and manage manpower to meet production goals, schedule requirements, and quality standards.
• Drive a company truck to and from jobsites and between project locations; keep the truck clean, organized, and job-ready.
• Maintain and track tools, rigging, materials, and equipment assigned to the crew; coordinate deliveries, staging, and jobsite logistics.
• Enforce Patriot Steel NC LLC safety expectations and project-specific safety requirements; conduct daily pre-task planning and toolbox talks.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and project specs; verify layout, elevations, and field conditions prior to installation.
• Coordinate with the GC/superintendent and other trades to sequence work and resolve jobsite conflicts.
• Identify issues early (missing materials, access constraints, drawing conflicts) and communicate solutions promptly to project management.
• Complete field documentation such as daily reports, progress updates, manpower/equipment logs, and punch lists as required.
• Mentor and develop crew members; set expectations for professionalism, attendance, and jobsite conduct.
• Support punch-out and closeout activities to ensure complete, clean, and code-compliant installations.
Required Qualifications
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable for operating a company truck.
• Prior foreman/lead experience in miscellaneous steel er****on, ironwork, or related field installation.
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform accurate layout and field verification.
• Strong knowledge of safe rigging practices, lift safety, and installation methods.
• Ability to lead crews, maintain productivity, and deliver high-quality work on schedule.
• Reliable attendance and a consistent commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Willingness and ability to travel for out-of-town work (overnight travel as needed).
Preferred Qualifications
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain).
• Aerial lift / forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Welding/bolting experience (helpful depending on project scope).
• Experience with retrofits, tight-access installations, and active facilities.
Travel / Per Diem (Out-of-Town Work)
• Out-of-town work is required depending on project location and schedule.
• Hotel provided by the company for overnight stays when working out of town.
• Per diem for out-of-town work.
• Paid travel time on the travel days to and from the out-of-town jobsite.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and on active construction sites.
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and fall protection.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (more with assistance/equipment).
