MBD's founder and engineer, Kyle, is spending the week in NYC after SEAMi chose him for their NCSEA Summit scholarship. The National Council of Engineers Associations hosts an annual summit to explore the best practices and latest advancements in structural engineering, and this year's event is happening now in the Big Apple. Kyle is honored to be chosen as the scholarship recipient from the Structural Engineers Association of Michigan (SEAMi). This is a wonderful opportunity for Kyle to advance his education, as well as make valuable connections with other structural engineers both locally and nationally. We're so excited to see Heartwood Ciders make progress on their new building! They decided to partner with Michigan Building Design for building plans, and we were able to design an extremely efficient building that uses fewer trusses and bigger purlins in order to realize material cost savings. As lumber prices increase, these savings really help property owners build their dream building while staying on budget!
