If you don't have your HVAC system serviced twice per year, you are at risk of having an all-out catastrophe –

You know what I'm talking about. It's the end of July, 30+ degrees outside, and then the AC stops working… !

When you have no AC, how do you stay cool in the Florida summer?

Every year, The U.S. uses the same amount of energy just to power air conditioners as Africa would use to power the entire continent…

Most people never give a second thought to their HVAC system.

It cools me during the summer, keeps me warm during the winter, and keeps the air in my home fresh as can be…

But how can I maintain high performance?

You can start by changing the air filter every 3 months. This number can change depending on the climate, if you have any pets, and how old your HVAC system is.

Feel free to take a moment to ask us any questions you may have about your home's HVAC system, so that you too can stay cool this summer!

How often should I have my HVAC system maintained?

A question not enough people are asking.

You should have your HVAC system serviced by a professional at the beginning of every cooling and heating season.

Why, you ask? Because a well maintained HVAC system can last up to 30 years!

And we all know what it feels like when it's the middle of summer and the AC isn’t working.

So if you want to avoid this major inconvenience, don't sweat it – call us and we’ll make sure your HVAC system is good to go for years to come!

If you love your air conditioner, and we all do – then there is one man you should thank in particular.
Willis H. Carrier built the first modern electrical air conditioning unit in 1901.
But you may be surprised why.
At the time, Sackett-Wilhelms Lithographing & Publishing Company had a serious issue on their hands. Temperature fluctuations in the printing rooms were causing their paper to expand and contract, and their drying ink to smudge.

Mr. Carrier installed his AC unit in 1902 to combat these problems, controlling the temperature and humidity of the building – et voila, their issues were solved!

More people started to catch on to the fact that these systems were pretty nifty, and, by 1914, domestic AC units began to really take off!

The rest is history :)

Can’t live without your air conditioner?

You’re not the first one to say that.

Air conditioning actually dates back to prehistory. Ancient Egyptian buildings were known to use many passive air conditioning techniques to keep them cool in the desert heat.

But what is passive air conditioning?

First, let's establish what air conditioning actually is: it's the process of removing heat and controlling the humidity of a space to maintain a more comfortable interior environment.

Passive air conditioning comes in many forms:

-Cross ventilation: allowing air to pass freely through the building by means of two openings on either side of the house
-Stack ventilation: allowing the rising hot air to escape the building through openings in the roof
-Night flushing: keeping the air in a building sealed throughout the day, then allowing new cooler air to flow during the night
-Radiative cooling: designing surfaces of a building such as the roof to better radiate heat outwards, typically during the night
-And many more!

Passive air conditioning involves many feats of physics and engineering, and so does the modern “active” air conditioning that we use today.

So the next time you come inside to a cool room after the summer heat, take a moment to think about the ancient Egyptians and their ingenious ideas :)
