A clogged drain line is one of the most common HVAC problems we see! 🚨 When the drain line gets clogged, it can activate the safety switch, causing your system to shut down. 😱 This means no cool air when you need it most! 🥶

But don’t worry — this is an easy fix! Here's how you can keep your drain line clear and prevent the hassle:

Step-by-Step to Clear Your Drain Line:

1️⃣ Turn Off Your HVAC Unit: Safety first! Make sure your system is powered down before you start working on it.

2️⃣ Locate the Drain Line: Find the drain line near your outdoor unit. It’s usually a PVC pipe that leads to the outside.

3️⃣ Inspect the Line: Check for any visible clogs or standing water. This is a sign that your line might need a cleaning.

4️⃣ Vacuum the Drain Line: Use a wet/dry vacuum to suck out any debris or dirt from the drain line. Attach the vacuum nozzle to the end of the line (usually located outside) and give it a few good passes.

5️⃣ Flush with Vinegar (Optional): Pour a cup of white vinegar down the drain line to help break up any remaining gunk. Let it sit, then flush with water.

6️⃣ Check for Proper Drainage: Once you’ve cleared the line, run some water through it to ensure it flows freely. If water drains without issue, your system is good to go!

7️⃣ Regular Maintenance: Clean your drain line every 3-6 months to prevent future clogs. A little upkeep goes a long way! 🧹✨
