Only ~35% of the energy from carbon fuels becomes electricity… which means that when calculating the energy to generate 20MWh of electricity for a 2500SF residential structure, it takes ~10 tons of coal (equivalent) to produce the electricity… burn ~70MWh of carbon fuels to generate 20MWh of electricity… 12 years of energy per railroad car per house… see that train pulling 150 railroad cars of coal? That just enough for ~1800 homes this year… imagine 190 trains… every day… that’s what it looks like to power 125.3M American households… that’s over 1.25B tons of carbon fuel…
This is why eliminating demand 70% + onsite power generation (all at no additional cost) are fundamental tenants of THE CLEAN STANDARD… eliminate the source of the problem instead of trying to fix/mitigate the outcomes of not solving the problem.
