Always At The Forefront of Technology

NewEra has a long rich heritage of staying at the forefront of technology. In the early 1960's, as an accountant with the Utah State Tax Commission, our company founder was amongst early adopters of the IBM 1620, an early transistorized computer introduced in 1959.

The IBM 1620 was a groundbreaking scientific computer, designed to be affordable and accessible to universities, research institutions, and government agencies. Its decimal-based architecture made it particularly well-suited for accounting and financial applications, where precision in numerical calculations was paramount. NewEra purchased the first DL-15 MTM, the first Mori-Seiki multi-spindle, multi turret machine on US soil. Since then we have embraced cutting-edge technology like Dual Spindle Multi-Axis CNC machines, leveraging their capabilities to drive productivity, output, and confidence in quality. Once we got a taste of the benefits of these new machines we naturally were amongst the first to purchase the updated DL 150 machine which added a Y-axis as well! Much like how the IBM 1620 revolutionized complex calculations, data processing, and accounting accuracy for the tax commission, our adoption of advanced manufacturing solutions has transformed our operations and has established us leaders in technological adoption. Once a pioneer, always a pioneer.

NewEra, Is Not New

Don't let our name fool you. NewEra has been around for some time - since the 1960's! Like many premiere CNC machine shops, we have a story that dates back to that one person who started a tool & die shop in his garage. Add earned success, a spinoff, a merger, a couple moves, some big business decisions, plus years of continuous improvement and you get to where we are today. It's only been since 2006 that we've been called NewEra Manufacturing. For many, we are remembered as Western Precision, the name we've gone by since the 80's. Our move to Las Vegas between 2006 and 2012 is what caused the name to change. Thus it became a 'NewEra'! But what hasn't changed is our dedication to precision machined parts. With now over 200 years of combined experience in machining parts for aerospace, medical, oil & gas, automotive and recreation industries, NewEra has carved out a reputation as one of Utah's premiere contract CNC machine shops.
