A question we’re asked often is:
What is the difference between monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels, and which one should I get for my home?
The main differences between the two are efficiency, cost, and aesthetic.
The benefits of monocrystalline panels are that they are highly energy efficient and have a sleek design.
They are, however, the more expensive option when it comes to solar solutions.
With polycrystalline panels, they are durable and cheaper, since their production process is simpler.
Unfortunately, there are some downsides to installing polycrystalline panels.
Polycrystalline panels are less efficient, which means more panels are necessary to reach the equivalent power output.
They may also not look as aesthetically pleasing.
Lastly, polycrystalline panels are impacted more by heat, which decreases their productivity on those scorching summer days.
If you are thinking about investing in solar panels for your home, it’s best to research your options so you can reach an informed decision.
