Travel plans to the Middle East just hit a major roadblock. Air Canada has officially suspended all flight operations to Dubai until 2027. The airline previously planned to restart the route this October but reversed the decision due to regional instability. Flights to Tel Aviv are also grounded until next year as insurance costs for international carriers skyrocket. While local airlines like Emirates continue to fly, Air Canada joins Virgin Atlantic in a long term withdrawal from the region. The airline is offering a flexible booking policy so affected passengers can rebook later without extra fees. Service is currently not expected to resume at DXB until mid-January of 2027.
