Description of Role - full-time Senior Technician
1. Diagnose residential (and possible light commercial) customer HVAC systems (all brands) for root-cause of issue; identifies equipment failure source(s)
2. Assess options to solve the root-cause with costs; communicate with customers accordingly
3. Effectively repair/install heat pumps, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, gas equipment, boilers, and chillers
4. Educate customers how to avoid potential future problems with their HVAC
5. Perform routine/preventative maintenance on HVAC units
6. Locates gas and water line leaks

Requirements
•At least 4 years experience in HVAC trade
•Possess valid driver’s license; and have a good driving record
•Journeyman’s license in HVAC preferred, but not required

Compensation & Benefits
•Hourly rate between $20 - $35
•PTO – Paid Time Off – 1 week @ 12 months service; 2 weeks @ 3 years service; 3 weeks @ 5 years service
•Paid sick time – up to 2 days/calendar year
•Vehicle provided (truck or van)
•Health Insurance – TBD
•Uniform provided for professional comfort & appearance
•Mobile phone provided

Did you know? October tends to be one of the busiest seasons of the year for customers needing professional Heating & Cooling? It's most often due to the heat not coming on during the initial cooler days/nights of fall.

There can be multiple reasons for this:
1. Leaky refrigerant in heat pumps (that's right leaking refrigerant in heat pumps causes the electric heat to kick on; often the 1st symptom is a huge electricity bill
2. Heat exchanger has gone bad

Dirty HVAC coils? Coils are prone to easily collecting dirt & debris. This requires between 10% - 50% more energy, costing you hard earned $$. It's typical for coils to require cleaning every 3 months during cooling season and at the very least annually during scheduled HVAC maintenance.

Will the Phase Out of R-22 Refrigerant Affect You?

Production & import of R-22 refrigerant will be illegal domestically as of January 1, 2020. Of course, continued use of your air conditioner (AC) or heat pump system using R-22 refrigerant is allowed. But if your AC or heat pump system needs a repair that involves refrigerant, you'll likely be faced with a decision between a big refrigerant bill & a system replacement.

If your AC or heat pump was built/installed before January 1, 2010, there’s a good chance it uses R-22 refrigerant. It’s a good idea to ask your licensed professional AC or heat pump professional for confirmation.

Faced with the rising costs of R-22 air conditioner repairs, the decline of available refrigerant supply, & the increase in price of refrigerant, deciding what to do with your system can be a complicated choice. We’re here to help you make the best, most educated choice for your home or business.
