Green infrastructure reduces flooding in our basements and standing water in the streets. It also improves water quality in our rivers and Lake Michigan during extreme rain events.

Starting working with your city engineer now throughout the summer to identify projects such as green alleys, green roofs, rain gardens, etc. so your municipality has pre-applications to submit before the Dec 15 deadline. Selected pre-applications will be invited to prepare a full application by March 5, 2027 and are required to contribute a minimum of 10% of eligible construction costs.

Sounds like a great deal to me. But you won't win if you don't apply.
