Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
Prefer candidate with GMAW & GTAW experience in aluminum and steel.
Utilize handheld tools such as drills, grinders & impact guns.
Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures & other welding hand tools.
Maintain welding machines using preventative maintenance methods.
Continually evaluate weld machine performance & technology to improve cycle times.
Maintain inventory of welding consumables.
Create specific weldment set-ups.
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
Identify product defects.
Rework and/or repair welded parts and products.
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff.
Maintain a clean & safe work area.
Work locations may vary from Fab Shop to field work depending on the project.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Flexible work schedule Monday - Friday with some Saturdays.
High School Diploma or GED.
1-2 years experience preferred.
Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions.
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred.
Work in a team environment and respect all teammates.
Must have a valid NYS Drivers License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES
Regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
Ability to operate fork-lift and man-lifts up to 120'.
