SteelCo Buildings was proud to take part in the Salvation Army of Covington Bridgestone Golf Tournament ⛳️ at Ashton Hills Golf Club.

From the fairways to the finish, this event was more than just a great round of golf... it was about supporting the Salvation Army’s mission and giving back to the Covington community we’re honored to be part of.

A big thanks to everyone who came out to help organize, play, and sponsor the cause. Together, we’re building stronger communities both on and off the course.

Ever wonder why two metal buildings that look almost identical can have different structural requirements?

Wind load is one of the reasons.

A building isn’t engineered based on size alone. Its location, design wind speed, exposure, height, openings, and other project conditions all influence how it needs to resist wind.

So when someone says, “My buddy bought the exact same building…”

Our first question might be:

“Where does your buddy live?” 😂

Same footprint doesn’t always mean the same engineering... and getting those details right from the beginning matters.

A great evening of connection, community, and a little celebration along the way. 🤝

Last week, along with SCB Construction Group we had the opportunity to host the Newton County Chamber of Commerce Member Mixer at our SCB headquarters, welcoming local business leaders, partners, and fellow Chamber members for an evening of networking and conversation.

The night also gave us a chance to quietly recognize a milestone that means a lot to our team: 25 years of building relationships, raising standards and elevating experience for our clients, and growing alongside the communities that have supported us from the beginning.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and to the Newton County Chamber of Commerce for continuing to create opportunities that bring the local business community together.

Here’s a look back at the evening. We’re proud to celebrate with the people who helped make it possible!

A lot of the industrial real estate conversation tends to focus on giant warehouses.

But here’s the interesting part:

Some of the tightest demand can be found in much smaller buildings.

Think contractor bays, service businesses, local operators, light industrial users, and companies that need functional warehouse space without leasing 100,000+ SF.

That is where small-bay industrial starts to get interesting.

The tenant pool is broad.
The spaces are flexible.
A lot of the existing inventory is older.
And new development has historically leaned much more heavily toward big-box industrial.

So while everyone is watching the massive distribution centers, there is a very different supply-and-demand story playing out under 50,000 SF.

Small footprint. Big opportunity.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders and everyday citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy.

We honor their memory and reflect on the unity, compassion, and resilience that brought our nation together.

“Though time moves forward, remembrance keeps their stories with us.”

We will never forget.

Behind every project, every delivery, and every milestone is a team that puts in the work day after day.

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people behind SteelCo Buildings and SCB Construction Group and taking a moment to recognize the dedication, skill, and effort they bring to our companies and the clients we serve.

We hope our team, partners, and everyone who works hard to keep our communities moving enjoys a well-earned day to recharge and spend time with the people who matter most.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at SCB!

Some projects are worth another look.

This past SteelCo Buildings project for Northside Bottle Shop in Athens, GA showcases how a pre-engineered metal building system can provide the structural backbone for a distinctive commercial space.

The 13,600 SF building was designed with a 28.5' high-side eave, standing-seam metal roof, insulated roof and wall systems, commercial openings, and framing coordinated to accommodate additional masonry and exterior finishes.

It’s a great example of how PEMB systems can go well beyond the traditional “metal building” look, giving owners the efficiency of an engineered steel system while leaving room for architecture, branding, and curb appeal.

Proud to revisit another project guided by Clint Neely and the SteelCo Buildings team.

From early progress to final completion, we’re proud to see this major self-storage development come together!

SteelCo Buildings supplied the building systems for Absolute Climate Storage, a 93,300 SF climate-controlled self-storage facility spanning 6 buildings in Anderson, South Carolina. The package included the metal building systems, foundation plans, insulation, and Trac-Rite roll doors—all coordinated to support an efficient, durable, and build-ready solution.

Originally connected through a valued client referral, this project reflects the trust, coordination, and expertise required to deliver at scale.

Congratulations to the Absolute Climate Storage team on the completion of this impressive facility, and thank you for the trust placed in Rebecca Johnson and the SteelCo Buildings team throughout the project.
