At the end of 2023, California had 7.3 GW of installed storage capacity, while Texas had 3.2 GW of installed capacity in that year.

There are over 300 utility-scale battery storage projects planned to be brought online by 2025, with roughly half of them being in Texas.

Texans see the value in storing renewable energy to reduce or avoid price spikes and supply shortfalls. The ability to store energy and release it when needed is essential to delivering a secure, reliable, modern electricity system for our state.
