Critical minerals don't just impact mining. They impact energy, technology, national defense and global supply chains.

United States Antimony Corporation Chairman and CEO Gary C. Evans and Americas Gold & Silver Chairman and CEO Paul Huet recently joined Bloomberg to discuss the growing importance of domestic mineral production amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and increasing demand for critical resources.

The conversation explored how minerals like antimony and silver support industries ranging from technology and energy to national defense, and why strengthening North American supply chains continues to be a priority.

As exploration activities prepare to get underway near Fairbanks, here’s what you can expect over the coming months:

🔺 Early June: Equipment mobilization begins, including moving drilling and support equipment into the project area.
🔺 Mid-June: Exploration drilling gets underway, focused on evaluating antimony-bearing material in previously disturbed areas.
🔺 Summer months: Seasonal exploration activities continue, including drilling, trenching and evaluating historical mining material.
🔺 September: Equipment is removed from site and seasonal reclamation work begins.

Reminder: all work takes place during daytime hours and follows permit requirements designed for seasonal exploration activity. We’ll continue sharing updates throughout the summer.

This week, USAC hosted a policy lunch in Washington, D.C., alongside the Western Caucus Foundation.

The discussion featured Montana Senator Tim Sheehy and U.S. Wildland Fire Service Director Brian Fennessy and focused on one of the West's most pressing challenges: wildfire prevention, management and response.

Senator Sheehy shared perspective from his experience as a Montana entrepreneur, former U.S. Navy SEAL and founder of Bridger Aerospace, a company focused on aerial firefighting and wildfire management. He is also the only member of Congress with firsthand firefighting experience.

Director Fennessy discussed the future of the newly established U.S. Wildland Fire Service and its efforts to modernize and strengthen federal wildfire response.

We appreciate the opportunity to bring together policymakers and stakeholders for conversations that impact rural communities across the West.

One mineral. A lot of impact. ⛏️

Antimony plays a key role in fire safety, electronics, energy technology and national defense.

It helps improve fire resistance in materials, supports electronic components and is used in battery technology found in vehicles and equipment.

Often found alongside gold, antimony was historically left behind during earlier mining. Today, it is recognized as a critical mineral.

Back in March, Americas Gold and Silver CEO Paul Huet and United States Antimony Corporation Chairman and CEO Gary C. Evans met with the President of Bolivia and the country’s Minister of Mines during a visit to the region.

The trip included a tour of an antimony processing facility using technology similar to what USAC plans to help bring to the Galena Complex in Idaho through its joint venture with Americas Gold & Silver.

The goal of the project is to recover critical minerals more efficiently and lower overall processing costs.

Once complete, the facility is expected to become the first commercial-scale hydromet processing center of its kind in North America, where USAC holds the exclusive license for the technology. ⛏️

NPR recently took a closer look at the growing importance of antimony production in the United States.

The story highlights work happening at United States Antimony Corporation’s operations in Montana and the increasing focus on strengthening domestic critical mineral supply chains.

Listen and read the full story ➡️ n.pr/3PosBSe.

For clarification, the federal support referenced in the story includes a $248 million Defense Logistics Agency purchase contract for antimony metal, along with a separate $27 million grant award supporting expansion efforts in Montana and ongoing development tied to Alaska claims. The federal government does not hold an ownership stake in USAC.

President Trump's visit to China highlights the lock China has on critical and strategic minerals. A big federal investment in Montana mining aims to turn that tide.

United States Antimony Corporation is expanding its work in tungsten. ⛏️

In June 2025, we acquired more than 1,100 hectares in Ontario for exploration, and early results are promising.

At the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention this past March, we shared an initial resource estimate showing significant tungsten potential, marking an important step forward for the project.

Tungsten is a critical mineral used in manufacturing, energy and advanced technologies. North America has not had a primary tungsten producer in more than 12 years, and we are on track to become the first.

We’re continuing to build momentum as this work moves forward. Read more about the growing importance of tungsten ➡️ bit.ly/4eq1tMY.
