Scientists want to spend $150 million to build a telescope on the Moon β€” and its #1 job is to listen for aliens. πŸ‘½πŸ“‘

The mission is called LFT3. The plan is to put it on the far side of the Moon β€” the side that never faces Earth.

Why there? Because Earth is too "noisy" now. Our satellites, radars, and phones send out so many radio signals that we might miss a real message from space. In fact, if the famous "Wow! signal" from 1977 happened again today, we probably wouldn't even notice it. But the far side of the Moon is silent β€” no signals from Earth can reach it.

If this telescope gets built, it will spend 20 weeks listening for: πŸ‘½ Signs of alien technology (the main goal) 🌠 Auroras on faraway planets β€” which could mean they can support life ⚑ Strange, powerful flashes from deep space

But there's a problem: time is running out. By 2030, more Moon missions will start sending signals to the far side too β€” and once that happens, this quiet spot will be gone forever.

The telescope isn't funded yet. But for just $150 million, scientists say it could be one of our best chances to find out β€” are we really alone in the universe?

Would you support this? πŸ‘‡

Why the wait?

Because just getting to space is only the first step.

NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched on August 30, 2026.

It's now on a three-month trip to its new home, a spot about a million miles from Earth called L2.

Once it gets there, the real work starts.

The team on the ground will slowly unfold its parts, test every piece, and make sure everything works before it's ready to take pictures.

Only after all of that is done will Roman take its very first photo.

NASA says that should happen in early 2027.

It'll be worth the wait.

Roman can see 100 times more sky in one shot than Hubble can.

Scientists plan to use it to learn about dark matter and dark energy, and find thousands of new planets outside our solar system.

Are you the patient type who can wait for that first photo, or will you be checking NASA's page the second 2027 starts? πŸ‘‡
