Have you ever wondered why h**p clothing, bedding, upholstery, and footwear often stay fresher longer than conventional fabrics?
Research suggests that h**p's antimicrobial properties may come from a combination of naturally occurring bioactive compounds, superior moisture management, breathability, and its unique fiber structure. By helping move moisture away from the skin and creating conditions that are less favorable to bacteria and odor-causing microbes, h**p fabrics can provide lasting comfort without relying on chemical antimicrobial treatments.
It's just one more reason why h**p continues to gain attention as a sustainable, high-performance textile for apparel, home furnishings, and industrial applications.

In this month's Family and Consumer Sciences column, Ohio State University Extension Educator Holly Bandy explains why letting kids struggle — and sometimes fail — is the secret to helping them grow. Instead of rushing to fix their mistakes, summer chores and activities offer the perfect chance for "safe failures" that build lasting confidence.

🌱 Got h**p in the ground? Remember to get it in the books! 🧑‍💻

Friendly reminder for all USDA licensed h**p producers: You are required to file a planting report with your local FSA office.

⏱️ Timing is key: Reports are generally due within 30 days of planting.
