Most Florida homeowners have no idea what their evaporator coil actually looks like… and honestly, it’s usually not pretty.
With our humidity, these coils stay wet almost year-round. That turns them into the perfect breeding ground for dirt, mold, and bacteria. Over time, that buildup restricts airflow, hurts efficiency, and can even affect the air you’re breathing inside your home.
The first photo is a coil I recently pulled and inspected. Completely clogged up with buildup. The second photo is after a proper cleaning.
This isn’t something a basic filter change will fix. It takes the right process and attention to detail to get it cleaned the right way without damaging the coil.
If your system hasn’t been cleaned in a while, there’s a good chance it looks similar to that first photo.
