This was a fun project we finished up recently. Updated cabinetry, countertops, sinks, and lighting that included mounting a new ceiling fan 14' up in the air. We also removed the old fiberglass shower setup and replaced it with a new waterproofed and tiled shower.

Located in remote Clarksville, NH, we dont typically work that far away from home, but this is the 3rd Northwoods Lodging project i have done and we are always happy to help great customers. Their places are always tastefully designed, and they pay attention to detail. Check it out on Airbnb.

As a follow up to the previous post. Here's some of the process i went through to create the flat balusters. It started with a simple tracing of the original baluster. I made a few tweaks to the design and gave it a repeatable pattern that was a tribute to the original. From there i made up a few templates, one for the flat rails and one for the stair rails as they needed to be a little different. Each part had its own jig made. With the template created i then began to use a router to make over 120 identical balusters.

There was a lot of trial and error on the design and production phase, but the vision came out just as planned. Couldn't be happier with the end result.

This deck was where Golden Home Services was born. Originally taken on as a side project and a personal challenge. The deck as i found it, had painted plywood cutouts on the stairs, and the railings were in poor condition at best. The goal was to recreate the existing beauty of the existing deck, and keep it in the same style, to match this beautiful Victorian house.

Many hours went into restoring and, rebuilding a new set of stairs, rebracing the deck and replacing multiple sections of water damaged wood and crafting the new balusters, which are definitely the star of this deck.

"You did an amazing job with our front porch! It's the prettiest in the neighborhood! (I've had neighbors confirm this)"

I couldn't be happier with the end result. And I'll take the prettiest deck in the neighborhood as the highest compliment.

Halfway through my third year as a solo contractor, I have had highs and lows, made mistakes, learned from them and grown.

I have met some of the best customers and some of the worst as well. From completing my first full basement finish, to designing and building a deck wrapped around a hot tub with cascading stairs wrapped around, to renovating a tiny house, (more like saving it from certain collapse,) to replacing multiple doors and windows, to rescuing a former client who's kitchen contractor bailed on them after taking as much of their money as he could. It's been one of the best years yet for Golden Home Services.

Thank you to everyone who's been there to support me, from my outstanding customers and friends, to the great contractors that have helped me along the way. It's been an honor to have so many repeat customers in such a short time. I'm looking forward to what Golden Home services can do for 2023.

End of the week, and the Tiny House is all buttoned up. Windows are all trimmed. Will be adding the fascia and rake boards before getting the corners up and set for siding.

Switching gears into next week. Time to jumo inside and get the new flooring down, put some interior walls back together and prep for the new tile shower.

Here's some progress pics of a tiny house overhaul. Started this one off as a siding job and has since turned into a complete gut and rebuild. The framing on the front was rotted, the sub floor all had to come out, 90% of the sheathing was replaced and every window needed some framing replacement.

Quite a lot of work has gone into this tiny house and we have a bit more to go. Keep an eye out for the finishing touches. All PVC trim, Monogram siding, and some serious interior upgrades ahead.

New custom Therma-Tru door with full lite and full side lites. Added a Fypon Crosshead and Pilasters to give this entrance a distinct new look.

This customer had a failing deck, and a failed french door. He removed the deck, we stripped back the siding, replaced rotted plywood and framing caused by poor original flashing.

We widened the door opening to accommodate a full size slider. Since they already have a large deck on the opposite side of the home, they just wanted access to the yard, and weren't particular about size. Here we used Diamond Piers for the footings and were able to start building the same day. After completion we filled in the area where the old ledger board was with Azek PVC trim.
