As some of you may have seen, we officially began the cleanup process yesterday and will continue working through it in the days ahead.

We truly appreciate everyone who has been patient, understanding, and supportive as we’ve navigated through this disaster.

We’d also like to thank Robertson Metal Recycling for their help with the cleanup process.

We’re taking it one step at a time and will continue to share updates as we make progress. ❤️

We just wanted to provide another quick update for everyone. We know there are still a lot of questions, and the truth is, we still have many of those same questions ourselves.

We understand this has been an inconvenience for so many people, whether that’s being out of work, needing grain, or simply dealing with the odor. We know it’s frustrating, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience during this process.

Unfortunately, there is only so much that can be done at this time. There are still meetings and other processes that have to take place before we can move forward with everything we’d like to accomplish including the clean up process to help eliminate the odor. Please know we are doing everything we can to get this taken care of as quickly and responsibly as possible.

We are incredibly grateful for the support, understanding, and encouragement we’ve received from so many of you. It truly means more than you know. We will continue to share updates as we are able.

Community Update

As many of you may have seen from the Dickinson Fire Department, the fire at Woody’s Feed & Grain has officially been extinguished. While the fire has been brought to a close, the road ahead is just beginning for Matt and Heather, our employees, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

First and foremost, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the Dickinson Fire Department, Dickinson Police Department, MDU, all mutual aid fire departments, first responders, city and county public works crews, local businesses, and every individual who stepped up to help throughout this unimaginable event. The compassion, dedication, and teamwork shown over the past few days have been nothing short of incredible. We are forever grateful for your tireless efforts and sacrifice.

Our hearts also go out to our neighboring businesses that were affected by this tragedy. We are deeply sorry for the disruptions, the unexpected closures, and the challenges this has created. We know that not only have our employees suddenly found themselves out of work, but many employees of our neighboring businesses were also unable to work due to road closures and restricted access during this incident.

To our customers, friends, and this incredible community, thank you. Every prayer, message, phone call, offer to help, and act of kindness has reminded us just how blessed we are to be part of such an amazing community. We ask for your continued patience, understanding, and compassion as we all begin to navigate the road ahead. A little kindness and grace can make all the difference during a time like this when so many have been affected.

Lastly, we ask everyone to please stay completely off the entire Woody’s Feed & Grain property and away from the building until further notice. We understand people are naturally curious and want to see the damage or take photos. However, the property is unsafe to enter, and there will be people on site periodically working through the aftermath of this tragedy. Please do not enter the lot or approach the building, even if you see people working. Your cooperation is essential for everyone’s safety and allows those on site to do their jobs without interruption. Please do not ask those working on the property for updates, as they are there to focus on the important work at hand. We will continue to share updates here as we are able. We ask that you respect the family by cooperating with this request during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and for respecting our property and everyone involved in the recovery process.

Many of you know Woody’s Feed & Grain, but we’d like to introduce the family behind it.

This is Matt and Heather Buckman, both graduates of Belfield High School. They are the owners of Woody’s Feed & Grain in Dickinson and Woody’s Trucking in Belfield, and the proud parents of their three children: Aubree, Chase, and Harper.

Heather’s journey with Woody’s Feed & Grain began 18 years ago, fresh out of high school. What started as a job quickly became a lifelong career. Through ownership changes and years of hard work, she worked her way from secretary, to manager, and ultimately became owner in 2023.

For 18 years, Heather has poured her heart into Woody’s Feed & Grain. To this family, this has never been just a business. It represents years of dedication, countless long days, and an unwavering commitment to serving the farming and ranching communities they love.

Today has been one of the most difficult days they have faced, but the love, prayers, and support from this community have been nothing short of incredible. Every message, phone call, and act of kindness has meant the world to the family and the entire Woody’s team.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. We truly couldn’t ask for a better community. ❤️

Unfortunately, we don’t have any new updates to share just yet, as it is still early in the situation.

While we continue to wait for more information, we wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude.

A heartfelt thank you to the Dickinson Fire Department, the Dickinson Police Department, MDU, the firefighters from surrounding communities, and all of the responders who have worked tirelessly this morning. We are incredibly thankful for each and every one of you and for everything you’ve done to help protect our business and our community.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the entire Woody’s Feed & Grain team. Your commitment to this business, your willingness to help wherever needed, and your dedication over the past few years. We are incredibly grateful to have such an amazing team.

Closed Until Further Notice

Unfortunately, Woody’s is experiencing an on going fire that started early this morning. Thankfully, everyone is safe, but due to the damage, we will be closed until further notice while we assess the situation and begin the cleanup process once possible.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this difficult time. We will keep everyone updated as we know more and look forward to serving you again as soon as we’re able.
