🌡️☀️ When summer temperatures rise, smart shade strategies can help make your RV feel more comfortable throughout the day. Here are three simple ways to reduce heat gain and focus your cooling where it counts.

1. Make window coverings part of the plan
Windows can be one of the biggest sources of heat gain in an RV. Adding shade coverage to side windows, doors, skylights, and cockpit glass can help reduce direct sun exposure and support a more comfortable interior environment.

2. Look for shade and create more of it
Whenever possible, park in the shade and think carefully about how sunlight will move across your RV throughout the day. Positioning your coach to limit direct exposure can help, and pairing that with exterior shade solutions can make your campsite more comfortable from morning through evening.

3. Close it up during peak heat
When temperatures are highest, keeping the RV closed up can help block hot air and solar heat from building inside. It can also help to close off rooms or areas you are not actively using so your cooling efforts stay focused on the spaces that matter most.
