Is Your AC Keeping Up?
Oklahoma heat is no joke, and your air conditioner is probably working harder now than it has all year.
One of the biggest misconceptions is turning the thermostat way down during the hottest part of the day to cool your home faster. Your system does not blow colder air when you lower the temperature. It simply runs longer trying to reach it.
A better approach is to set your thermostat around 70 degrees, or your preferred temperature, overnight while the temperatures are cooler. This gives your home and system a chance to cool down so it can work to maintain that temperature during the heat of the day.
It is also important to change your air filter regularly and keep your outdoor unit clean and free of debris.
As a small, family owned business, we know how important a cool home is for your family. If your AC is not keeping up, give McKinney Heat & Air a call. We are always happy to help.
