My Dad taught me many things when I started building with him as a teenager.

One lesson he shared has stuck with me ever since:

"If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right."

That's the mindset that guided me when I started Tool & Trade 6 years ago and it still guides it today. We build beautiful decks and outdoor spaces that stand thd test of time, with a focus on integrity, communication, and attention to detail.

These Lake Forest Park homeowners reached out to us because their back deck was in rough shape, and their steeply sloped backyard was difficult to use.

With their family growing, they wanted a larger and more functional outdoor space where they could relax, host, and enjoy their backyard more comfortably.

They selected Deckorators Costa decking for its durability, low maintenance, and slip resistance. As part of the rebuild, we also incorporated low-voltage riser lights into each set of stairs to create a warm ambiance at night and improve safety.

At the end of the project, we brought in a landscaper to help finish the space with a new retaining wall, fresh landscaping, and a cleaner layout around the deck.

Building decks and tuckering out dogs

These Lake Stevens homeowners hired us to rebuild multiple outdoor spaces, including an elevated second-story deck, a lower backyard deck, and their front entry stairs.

The result was a relaxing outdoor space with low-maintenance decking, sleek aluminum railings, and a warm ambiance.

They went with Apex PVC Brazilian Teak decking with Carbonized Osage double border accents. For the railings, we used TimberTech IRX aluminum railings with a matching Carbonized Osage drink rail, under-rail LED lighting, and riser lighting on the rebuilt front steps.

We used Timbertech Advanced PVC Coastline Decking on this deck replacement, with a wraparound bench seat and vertical skirting to enclose the space below.

This Mukilteo Custom Privacy Wall and Floating Awning is wrapped up! This private hot tub area is officially 👌

The privacy wall is composed of Apex Brazilian Teak PVC Fascia, with an Apex Himalayan Cedar PVC Top Cap that waterfalls the edge. Topping it is stained cedar posts with stainless steel cable accents, and a stained rough sawn cedar beam. Low maintenance, durable, and gorgeous.

The floating awning was built with stained cedar, with clear EZ-Glaze premium polycarbonate roofing, with sleek stainless steel cables supporting it and a color matched gutter to avoid drips while getting to and from the hot tub
