We have an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment/Truck Mechanic located at our Faribault, MN location.

Duties and/or Responsibilities in this position include:

- General understanding of machinery and the internal working of construction equipment.

- Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on trucks and machinery (both diesel and gas) and/or assisting with repairs/improvements/maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition.

- Troubleshooting equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair necessary.

- Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.

- Self-motivated with a determination to independently problem-solve with sound judgement.

- Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.

- Accurately complete work orders or other maintenance repair documentation.

- Sporadic overnight field travel (approx. 2 weeks per year).

- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and functional work space.

- Reliable, self-managed individual with excessive attention to detail;

- Ability to lift heavy items on a consistent basis.

Wage:

· $25.00 – 30.00/hr+ (DOE)

Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment Operator

The position will require the operation and training to operate miscellaneous pieces of equipment (i.e., skid loaders, concrete mills, boom trucks, saws, concrete batching trucks, etc.). At times it may be necessary to perform basic light labor duties, such as spraying cure on freshly poured concrete, distributing materials to portions of the project, etc. 100% travel is required. The willingness and ability to learn and be capable of running new types of equipment is critical to this position. Having a basic mechanical ability is a plus.

Benefits:
- Base pay from $25 - $30/ hr depending on experience. Prevailing Wage pay up to $40/ hr based on project location.
- Overtime rates apply
- Operator union benefits: Vacation fund, pension, medical/dental/vision insurance
- Hotel rooms paid by employer if you hold a Class A or B CDL
- Weekly Per Diem available when applicable
- Full Time with weekly overtime

After a two year hiatus because of the pandemic, we were thrilled to once again host our annual holiday party last Friday!

Safety starts with this room. Everyone here (supervisors, assistant PMs, shop foreman) is constantly learning risk management, safety ideas, and new tools to ensure all our employees get home safely each day.

Today we are hosting our ‘Supervisor Kick-off Meeting’. It gives us a chance to get all the office management and field management in the same to reflect on the 2022 season and discuss improvements to be made for 2023.

The nearly complete I-94 expansion near Monticello incorporates several noise reduction features. One example is the Next Generation Concrete Surface (NGCS), which was used to provide a long-lasting, economical, noise reducing surface texture. NGCS is the quietest exposed concrete surface available today.

Interstate Improvement, Inc. has a immediate opening for a laborer to join our joint sealing crew.

We are a general highway contractor based in Faribault, MN. We perform highway repair throughout the continental U.S.

The position will require the ability to travel 100% nationwide. You will be working on a highway repair crew performing different types of work ranging from concrete pours, bridge work, joint/crack sealing, and various other tasks. These crews are team orientated so there will be opportunities to perform various tasks and learn new skills.

Qualifications/ required skills

- Valid Driver’s License required

- Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record

- Ability to be away from home for extended periods of time

- 18 years of age or older and 21 years or older to drive a company vehicle.

- Ability to work extended hours in adverse weather conditions

- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs or more

- Willingness to follow directions, be productive without constant supervision all while remaining safety conscious
