Congratulations to Mr.Taylor!
🌟 Congratulations to the 2024 CIIC Scholarship Recipient! 🌟
Construction in Indian Country (CIIC) and the Del E. Webb School of Construction proudly announce this year’s CIIC Scholarship recipient: Wayne Tewanima Taylor IV (Hopi & Navajo). Wayne is a senior majoring in Construction Management & Technology at Arizona State University.
Born and raised in Chandler, Arizona, Wayne is dedicated to advancing construction opportunities within Indigenous communities. He currently serves as President of the Construction in Indian Country Student Organization (CIICSO), where he supports Indigenous students pursuing construction-related fields and helps strengthen community engagement.
Wayne chose to study Construction Management to oversee and manage construction projects on Indigenous lands, focusing on improving infrastructure and creating long-lasting, positive impacts for Native communities. He is currently gaining valuable industry experience working part-time with Sundt Construction in the Transportation Division and has already accepted a full-time Field Engineer position with Sundt upon graduation.
His long-term goal is to become a Project Manager. This scholarship, made possible through the CIIC Student Endowment, supports Indigenous learners, enhances student engagement, and creates pathways to internships and career opportunities.
Your generosity empowers Indigenous communities by helping develop the technical expertise and leadership needed to manage construction activities at the highest standards. Together, we are building capacity, opportunity, and self-determined futures across Indian Country.
✨ Thank you to everyone who supports the CIIC Student Endowment Fund and invests in the next generation of Indigenous construction leaders.
