Tick season is ramping up even here in our mountain areas. Ticknology has started receiving Rocky Mountain wood ticks this week. The 4 ticks shown below tested negative — good news. Rocky Mountain wood ticks are associated with Rocky Mountain spotted fever, tularemia and Colorado tick fever (virus). Although infections are uncommon in this species, preventing the bite is key!
