Last night I was watching the college football National Championship. Before the game started, the camera moved to the dad of Michigan coach, Jim Harbaugh, (Also the dad of John Harbaugh, coach of NFL team Baltimore Ravens.
The announcer shared a story that the sons had shared with her. Jack, the dad, was an assistant FB coach while the boys were growing up. They had some tough times... But how Jack handled it and what he taught his boys made all the difference...
See, every time they would do something, Jack would ask, "Who has it better than you right now?" The boys would respond enthusiastically, "Nobody!"
Out shoveling snow? Walking to school in the rain because the car had a flat tire? Mowing lawn? Or any of the other million things a person does while growing up... The one constant was Jack's question and the boys' response, "Nobody!"
Mindset is powerful. And Jack taught his boys that whatever the situation was, no matter how good or how unpleasant, they had it good.
They believed it. It was ingrained in their minds from an early age.
I truly believe that the reason Jack Harbaugh's sons have each reached incredible success in their respective fields is due to the belief system instilled in them from a very early age.
Words matter. Praise matters. Finding the good in whatever situation we are in matters.

If you aren't happy in your life...
If you feel you are attracting the "wrong" kind of people into your business...
Change you mindset and watch everything change. :)
