13-YEAR-OLD PULLED OVER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 98 AT 2 AM WITH A LOADED REVOLVER
At around 2 am, a Walton County Sheriff's Deputy witnessed an SUV driving erratically down Highway 98 near County Highway 393 North.
The driver took off but struck a large construction barrel as the vehicle entered a construction zone by 98 and 30a.
The deputy was finally able to get the vehicle stopped and discovered a 13-year-old behind the wheel. A search of the SUV revealed a fully loaded 38 special revolver, a v**e, and a ma*****na pipe.
At the time of the stop, the Walton County Jail booking system was down. However, the juvenile was issued a criminal citation for driving without a license and a warrant is being applied for on charges of minor in possession of a firearm.
School Resource Deputies have followed up with the family and the child has been placed in distance learning pending possible arrest.
