Welcome to phase 2 of Senior Gunner Course. During phase two of Senior Gunner Course students will become experts on Chapter 8 of Gunnery Skills Test (TC 3-20.31-1) in order to go back to their unit and run thier Gunnery Skills Test evaluations.

SSG Aaron Crow from HHT 1-108 CAV, GAARNG receives instructions from SSG Montgomery on how to properly conduct Task 6 (clear, disassemble, assemble and preform a functions check) and task 8 (load, attempt to fire, preform immediate action, and unload) on the M2A1 Caliber .50 Machine Gun. As phase 2 of the Senior Gunner Course kicks off for Class # 305-21 we bring in Mr. Kevin O'Connor from Warfighter Ammunition Information Program (WAIP). He will discuss small and medium caliber ammunition capabilities, new rounds that are in development, and common issues in our older ammunition. This class will aid our future Senior Gunners both in training and combat environments and they become their units subject matter expert's.

Students in the Georgia Army National Guard (Class 305-21) take the Crew Eval practice exam in order to become familiar with Senior Gunner Course (SGC) testing procedures. The Crew Eval written exam is one of two exams these future Senior Gunners must pass to become VCE certified and move onto phase 2 of 3 of SGC. During phase one there are 4 exams, 3 written and 1 practical exercise (grading gunnery audios using Common Crew Score Sheets and completing a Common Crew Roll-Up).

This is one of many manuals students will become Subject Matter Experts on upon successful completion of the Senior Gunner Course. Students will use this class during a 3 hour board on thier Unit Training Plan (UTP). In addition they will use this class to build gunnery ranges during their gunnery densities back home as they serve as their unit Senior Gunner.
