Working hard and long on a new Revision. This new revision has some Security Permissions changes, some Scheduler speed-ups, bug fixes, and a host of new features/improvements.
Working on this new app got me to thinking about 1992 when Quantrac came alive. That was 28 years ago. many of our original clients are still with us. And most of our users that purchased over the decades are also still our Quantrac friends.
Thinking back to those early days, I traveled the USA to go to dealer meetings, Carrier distributor meetings and Carrier factory meetings. (at the same time, I was also the owner/operator of Airco Comfort Systems. My plate was pretty full! I sold Airco and retired from active HVAC ownership in 1908. But enjoy working Quantrac.
I remember in 1992 through 1995 having to show prospective users how to use the computer mouse. REALLY!
HVAC dealerships were just beginning to computerize and Windows programs for us were rare. In fact, Quantrac was the first and only true Windows application for HVAC dealership for many years.
A lot has happened since then. Most HVAC offices are now computerized. Almost everyone knows how to hold and use a mouse. 😷.
Most of our internal activities are the creation of new Revisions and servicing our many subscribers. New customers are few and far between since most offices now have computerization. So our dedication is to technical support and new revisions/features. New sales are almost always returning customers that tried brand X or Y and want to come back. I welcome them with open arms and do everything possible to make the transition back to Quantrac as easy as possible. But it's fun . . it's what I do
