Engineering on the Coast Industrial & Systems Engineering & Mechanical Engineering students recently participated in a workshop on Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) at the Coast AiM UP Lab, offered in partnership with MGCCC. Students gained valuable experiential learning by working hands on with an OTTO 100 AMR, exploring how this cutting edge technology is used in modern factories and warehouses. We are proud to provide opportunities that connect classroom learning to real world engineering applications!

Congratulations to Dr. Jenna Johnson on earning a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification! This prestigious achievement is a huge milestone, and we are thrilled to have Dr. Johnson bring this expertise to the Coast Campus.

🎉🎉Congratulations to ISE faculty, Dr. Jenna Johnson, who has recently earned a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from North Carolina State University (NCSU). Pending approval, our department plans to launch a new graduate-level Six Sigma certification program starting in the coming fall semester. With this credential, Dr. Johnson will play a key role in developing and delivering Six Sigma training opportunities, helping embed continuous improvement principles throughout the ISE curriculum. Well done, Dr. Johnson 👏

The Engineering on the Coast (EoC) program allows students from South Mississippi, South Alabama, and Louisiana to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial & Systems Engineering while staying close to home.

Mississippi State University’s Engineering on the Coast is proud to present 40 graduates for 2024-2025 in electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering.

These graduates have been hired by companies throughout South Mississippi as well as regionally including Ampirical, Atmos Energy, Bollinger Shipyards, Chevron, Coast Electric, Cooperative Energy, Evonik, Ingalls, Keith Huber Corp., MS Power Company, PFG Optics, Qualas, SABIC, Serco, and Southern Company as well as others. Congratulations Mississippi State Engineering on the Coast graduates!

How do ISE seniors get to graduate? Dr. J evaluates their cowbell production line so heavily her brow furrows, and if their cowbells pass quality inspection and make that magical cowbell clanging sound, they get to graduate! In all seriousness, this semester four IE seniors have done a fantastic job developing the cowbell production line for The Learning Factory. Now they are ready to tackle the real-world!
