Porch enclosures and screening were the hot item at Amblebrook this summer. The team completed four projects in just over four weeks.

Haven’t posted in quite some time. I’ve been so busy working on projects, there has been little to no time for social media or gallery updates. Of the five thousand construction photos on my phone, some examples of recent projects- custom entry cabinets/bench, countertop and appliance replacements with undercabinet led lights and tile backsplash, custom pantry shelving, painted three-piece crown mounding, accent walls (a personal favorite), and bath remodeling. Hoping to renew this portfolio and post more than once every five years😂.

The big project for August 2020 was a complete floor-to-ceiling kitchen rehab. The project started with removal of the original cabinets, flooring, bulkheads, and rear entry door. Installation of electrical, lighting, and venting rough-ins, drywall patching, application of a new plaster coat on ceilings, with primer and paint throughout, and an increased opening into the adjoining space followed. Finished with installation of new Timberlake cabinetry with quartz tops, farmhouse sink with fixture, ceramic tile backsplash, chrome range hood with matching bi-fuel stove, LVT flooring, under-cabinet, recess, and table lighting, and Permashield sliding door.
The transformation of this space took just about a month, completely changing the interior character of this home. Many thanks to these excellent clients for your understanding and patience. Excelsior!

Recent rebuild of a farmhouse portico. Removal of aluminum wraps, decaying wooden stairs and rails, and stone floor. Custom rebuild of newel posts, wrapping of structural posts, band board, stringer and riser construction with PVC. New synthetic porch flooring on both decks and stair treads. New vinyl rails and beaded soffit. Installation of new carriage lights and receptacles. A durable, low-maintenance upgrade on a beautiful nineteenth-century home.

After a long winter, and an even longer spring (courtesy of COVID-19 work delays), this basement remodel has reached the finish line. This massive remodel included door and stair replacement, studded walls with plaster finish, gas fireplace with custom maple mantel and brick veneers, custom kitchenette with maple cabinetry, custom-built maple bar with spalted maple top, bianco merimare granite countertops, trey tin ceiling, and so much more. Hardwood floors, decorative and functional crawlspace access, recess lighting throughout, custom recessed-panel posts and oak newel, new half-bath with ceramic tile and furniture-style vanity, and tile backsplashes are just a few of the many embellishments in this beautiful space.

Quarantine shop projects that kept me busy, and saved my sanity (and my family's!).
1) A treated peekaboo fence to replace the fence damaged in February storms.
2) Completed the maple bar in full-scale. Soft maple frame fabricated from rough-cut, espresso stain with eight coats of satin lacquer, 2" spalted maple top with stained maple rail. The dark stain obscured details on the completed photos. Hoping that completed project photos will capture greater details on this beast!
3) Handmade maple crokinole board with epoxy gutter.
4) Mahogany fire-pit tabletop.
5) Custom Stealie co****le boards
