Last year, I developed a chromatic tuner app, based on bat echolocation. This project took months to research, then 6 months of working hard when not at my other job. The audio processing sequence uses a bat echolocation inspired algorithm to detect the frequency of a note. This is my signature tuner now.
For enhanced calibration, there is a mode called Bat Zoom, simply tap the Bat Zoom button to engage it, and tap again to disengage.
I am very proud of this app and it took so long to complete.
Lots of testing and debugging. I love bats and this idea actually works. The app uses the device's microphone in a way a bat's ears might detect the location and pitch of a sound.
A different, yet effective way to tune an instrument.
When the new album Satanic Magic is released, I will make a QR code or promo codes so every time someone buys the album they will get a free download of the tuner. Tuner Bat is now published in the Google Play Store as an Android App, for Android 15 and newer. The app was written in Python.
