Student Ambassador Highlight: Jack Engler

Jack is a Senior this year and is a student-athlete with the Mines swim team. He also is a part of three student organizations on campus, AADE, SPE & FCA.

Jack’s dream job in the field of Petroleum Engineering is to become a Production Engineer and he has already interned with Chevron twice, once in California and once in Texas.

What is your favorite part of the program?
Jack replies - “Field Session (2) was an incredible experience in a really cool spot. I made a ton of awesome memories with my friends, got to see and learn a lot, and enjoyed rafting in Dinosaur National Monument.”

Why are you passionate about Petroleum Engineering?
Jack replies - “Oil and gas are so critical to our everyday lives, and there are huge numbers of people who don’t get to enjoy the benefits that oil and gas provide. I am really passionate about being a petroleum engineer because I feel like I can make a difference in the world by providing more reliable energy all over the world and can ensure that that is being done the right way. Oil and gas are not going to go away, so it is up to us to continue to safely, reliably and efficiently produce our natural resources.”
