In honor of Wood Work Wednesday, let's meet the man behind NTX Wood Work - James Thurman.
The craftsmanship behind NTX Wood Work is built on tradition, family, and decades of hands-on experience. James grew up in the trades, spending his childhood summers on job sites with his father, who dedicated his life to construction. That early exposure shaped a lifelong passion for building and woodworking.
Carrying on his father’s legacy, James stepped fully into the industry at a young age and has been committed to quality craftsmanship ever since. One of the most meaningful moments in his career came when he completed a major remodel for one of his father’s longtime builders while his dad was ill. Finishing the project shortly after his father’s passing became a defining moment in honoring everything he’d been taught.
James specializes in custom outdoor living spaces (kitchens, decks, patio covers) as well as detailed trim work like crown molding on vaulted ceilings, and so much more. He has a deep appreciation for projects that bring families together inside or outside and are built to last for generations.
With thousands of projects under his belt, what truly sets James apart is his ability to listen, visualize, and execute each client’s vision with precision, care, and humility.
When he’s not building something beautiful, you’ll likely find him outdoors or on the water with his wife - continuing the legacy in life and work.
