Another one from the Blue Dingo archives. This was a really fun Skoolie build I did for a local client.

This old school bus got turned into a warm little home on wheels, with custom cabinetry, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, seating, lots and lots of woodwork, and plenty of oddball little details that come with building inside a bus.

One of my favorite parts of these builds is figuring out how to make everything work within the vehicle that’s already there. Nothing is square, nothing is standard, and there’s always a little problem solving involved. That’s also what makes them fun.

And apparently the pass-through window received Asha’s approval. 😂

A little throwback to this vintage Airstream renovation I did for a local client.

This little guy is a circa-1970, roughly 20-foot Airstream that got the full treatment. Completely gutted and rebuilt from the inside out with new electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, finishes, and pretty much everything in between.

Such a fun little project, and I’m still really proud of how this one turned out. There’s something pretty special about taking an old rig like this and giving it an entirely new life.

Hope you enjoy it! 👍

Keeping the pup cool in a camper van. 🐕❄️

I see questions all the time about running air conditioning off-grid, how much solar you need, how big of a battery bank to run, and whether it actually works when it gets REALLY hot outside.

Asha travels pretty much everywhere with me, so after one particularly hot summer I decided I needed a system I could actually rely on to keep the van comfortable for both of us.

I thought I’d do a little walk around Kevin and show you what I’ve been using.

I’m running a Dometic RTX 2000 12V AC, 400Ah lithium battery bank, 400W of solar, DC-DC charging while I drive, and shore charging when it’s available. I also show off one of my favorite little roof-space tricks, hiding the MaxxAir fan underneath a solar panel.

This definitely isn’t the only way to build a system like this, but it’s what I’ve been living with and using in the real world, and it’s worked really well for us.

If you’re working through a similar setup, hopefully there’s something useful in here. And if you’ve built something different that’s working well, I’d love to hear about it too.
