Today, we proudly recognize Reese Marshall for an incredible 40 years of dedicated service to North State Steel.

Reese began his career detailing steel structures shortly after North State Steel was started and through decades of hard work, commitment, and expertise, he has become our Drafting Manager, overseeing projects from the initial shop drawings all the way through fabrication. His leadership, attention to detail, and unmatched knowledge of the structural steel industry have played a vital role in his success and the growth of North State Steel.

Over the years, Reese has helped shape not only countless projects, but also the people and processes that have made our company stronger. His experience, professionalism, and knowledge have left a lasting impact on everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him.

There are not enough words to express the appreciation North State Steel has for Reese Marshall. His contributions over the past four decades have been invaluable, and we are forever grateful for the dedication and excellence he has brought to our organization every day.

Levi: “The apprenticeship has been good for me. I’ve learned a lot and it helped me get started in this line of work.”

Halee: “Tradesformers and the apprenticeship program gave me a chance to get into the trade and build a solid path for myself. I’ve picked up a lot since starting.”

🔦 Employee Spotlight: Don Howard

This week we’re highlighting Don, one of our longest tenured employees, and the impact he’s made at North State Steel over the past 42 years. From detailing, welding, fabrication, field work, and for the last 30 years estimating and project management, Don has done it all. Don has played a key role in building both our projects and our team.

We asked Don a few questions about himself and the work he does here at North State Steel.

Q: What made you get into the steel industry?
A: I was just helping out a friend.

Q: What’s something about your work that you’re most proud of?
A: The Nature Research Center in Raleigh. I quoted and managed that project.

Q: What makes North State Steel different from the other places you’ve worked.
A: The family feel to the company.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Going to the beach, hanging out with my grandkids, hunting, and fishing 🎣
