SMC Transmission Shop Payment & Storage Policy
Payment Policy
To ensure a smooth process for both our customers and our shop, the following policies apply to all transmission repairs and rebuilds.
Deposit Required
• A 25% deposit of the estimated repair cost is required at the time the vehicle or transmission is dropped off.
Final Payment
• The remaining balance must be paid in full before the vehicle or transmission is picked up.
• We do not release any vehicle or transmission until the invoice has been paid in full.
• Payment must be completed before or at the time of pickup. No exceptions unless approved in writing by management.
Storage Fee
• Customers will be notified when their vehicle or transmission is complete.
• A 2-day grace period begins on the date of notification.
• If the vehicle or transmission is not picked up within 2 calendar days, a storage fee of $25.00 per day will be added to the invoice beginning on the third day.
• Storage fees will continue to accrue until the vehicle or transmission has been paid for in full and picked up.
Abandoned Vehicles
Vehicles or transmissions left at the shop for an extended period without payment or communication may be considered abandoned and handled in accordance with applicable state laws regarding abandoned vehicles and mechanic's liens
