Please join us in congratulating General Dynamics Electric Boat Groton firefighters Thomas Gugliotti, Arthur Keaten, Theodore Bartkoski, James Brady, and Capt. Ryan Boulanger, who were recognized with Lifesaving Awards and the 2026 Operational Excellence Award (OPEX) for their life‑saving rescues during two intense apartment fires in 2025.

Our fire department doesn’t just serve the shipyard—they regularly respond to mutual aid calls in Groton, New London, and surrounding communities, providing critical support whenever and wherever it’s needed.

Congratulations to veteran General Dynamics Electric Boat shipbuilder AJ Zimbelmann, who was honored this week with the establishment of the Andrew J. Zimbelmann Endowed Chair for Leadership, Ethics, and Character at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) in Newport, RI. AJ has played a key role in submarine acoustic design construction and testing over his 40-year EB career, leading with “character, integrity and humility.”

The academic chair, NWC officials said, will shape future leaders for years to come.

We’re seeking experienced CNC Programmers to join our team at Quonset Point, RI, supporting the construction of Viriginia and Columbia Class Submarines. In this role, you’ll work with advanced machining technologies, develop manufacturing processes for highly technical components, optimize machine performance, and help drive first-time quality on some of the largest and most complex machined parts in the industry.

From 3-axis mills to simultaneous 5-axis machining, you’ll tackle challenging projects that require precision, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
