Here is a breakdown of the white oak beam project earlier this year.
These trees were cut down in the same yard this deck was built. This was a very cool process starting off with saw milling the trees to size. Cutting hardwood like this can be very tricky to get consistent cuts especially at this size. I cut the arches in these beams with a handheld bandsaw. The rest of the straight cuts are made with an oversized circular saw. After that everything gets planed to the perfect thickness. These beams are held together with multiple 8” timber screws as well as 1” through bolts.
Overall a very tricky but fun project that turned out amazing. Whatever project you can dream up our crew can make happen!
