We've been installing lots of new doors and storm doors lately. With the results, it's no wonder! This is a great way to clean up the appearance of your house, add a pop of color, and upgrade your insulation all at the same time.

This lonely door had been installed with the plan to eventually build a balcony. After several years and no balcony, the owners decided a window was more fitting and less risky!

We hope you don't have any doors that look like this! After removing drywall and insulation for a refinish of this bedroom, it was clear that the entire sill of this door was rotted out. This discovery did go a long way to explaining some water problems on the floor below and the poor temperature control in this room. The owners decided to remove the small exterior deck and replace this with a window instead, so we framed out the space until a window can be installed.

Bathrooms are, understandably, a location at risk for water damage. Due to a leaky toilet the subfloor in this room was in bad shape. We made sure to repair this and get everything in proper working order before doing the new floor install to bring the room up to date.

This entry way felt cramped and dark before we installed a new window to brighten the space and give it a more open feel.

This storage area had partitions to shield it from the weather. However, a wind storm had other ideas! After they were blown down, the open area was more vulnerable to termites. We enclosed the space more permanently to improve its utility and prevent such issues in future.

We are grateful for the warm weather for fall projects! ☀️ For a great example of a job you wouldn't want to tackle when the thermometer dives: a whole section of wall needed to be replaced due to rot and termite damage. Check out that hole in the corner in the 'before' picture; it was practically a mouse 🐁 freeway. Click the photo to see the final result! This area is sealed up tight now and ready for drywall and a new window install, which we will be doing later on after electrical and heating work is complete.
